A few weekends ago, the rest of us went to Upo Wetlands about 15 minutes from Changnyeong. It was a gorgeous day, perfect for exploring the area. We got there and it was one of the most adorable places.
After a long morning hike, a 3 hour flight delay and a Pizza Hut and Bintang feast in the airport (the most basic, most common beer in Indonesia), we made it to our next destination - Lombok*! In the morning, we had breakfast, played some cards, and had hired a driver to take us beach hopping for the day!
Our long summer vacation started with Luke and I arriving in Hong Kong. We couldn’t check in right away so we went and explored the area nearby. We saw a neat rooftop garden, The Garden of Stars, which honored Hong Kong celebrities with quite a few statues and greenery. It was a great place to see the ocean, the city buildings and the streets all at once.
Japan happened in the blink of an eye. Although we had done so much, I felt like we didn't do anything since I didn't have time to process any of it.
Last Friday was Selestia's birthday, but it was a fun day for all of us. Liam and some of the other teachers used the Duty Free Shop (aka market simulation room) in the school to create a "photo room" to surprise her.
We have hit monsoon season! So naturally, the group decided to spend a night on Bijindo Island a few weekends ago. Beach camping!
We've continued playing a LOT of four square. Usually before our Friday evening dinners. And a few weeks ago, Liam even made the King's hat out of balloons.
We celebrated Luke's birthday last weekend in Busan, because Busan is awesome, and only an hour away so we go there a lot haha. We started with a sweet lunch at Sushi Berry in Dongbaek with Stephanie and Sam, where Luke and I split two sushi rolls which were HUGE - the Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll.
6 months down, Cyber School has started, and we conquered yet another adventure.
Another week passed where Luke and I did not teach, but instead prepared material for our first week of Cyber School! Then Luke and I headed to Busan for the weekend with some big plans - a big fish market, a baseball game, and an awesome hike!
Being in the office only Thursday of last week, we had a long weekend ahead of us and still no set plans. Friday was a public holiday, Children's Day, which celebrates...children.
After a long, sleepless weekend in Jindo, we all woke up early Monday morning and left CEV with our bosses at 9:00 AM to begin our staff workshop - aka our "Harmony Trip" - in Geoje Island.
